The registration period to apply as a Delegate, Alternate or Observer to the 2017 PSAC North Regional Triennial Convention has been extended until January 15, 2017. The extension allows for all PSAC North members from across the three territories to have equal opportunity to share their voice on the Convention floor.

On Nov. 4th, the GNWT launched a website that tracks the progress of various departments on priorities outlined in the GNWT's 2016-2019 mandate. PSAC North commends the Government of the Northwest Territories for their effort to improve openness and transparency.  Read below excerpt from the press release from the Department of the Executive:

This Halloween, PSAC organized a Day of Action to encourage the Trudeau Government to live up to their promises and bring changes to the Treasury Board bargaining process, as well as resolve the Phoenix Pay System issues. There were many different types of actions across Canada giving Federal Government workers a chance to make their point. McLeod, Caroline Cochrane, Alfred Moses, Louis Sebert will be hosting a Public Open House at the Legislative Assembly in Yellowknife on October 18. 7 - 9 pm, Great Hall, NWT Legislative Assembly Join in the conversation and ask them about issues that matter to you and our territory, such as how are they planning to reach the ambitious goals they've set out in the Mandate of the 18th Legislative Assembly.

Want some food for thought? Alternatives North, Public Service Alliance of Canada and Northern Territories Federation of Labour will give out food for thought Monday, October 17 at the Yellowknife Post office. Snacks will be provided to the public along with a postcard people can mail to federal Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, calling for meaningful consultation in the development of a Canadian Poverty Reduction Strategy.
