PSAC North is proud to offer members a union education program that ranks among the best and most comprehensive in Canada.

We provide members with learning opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and personal confidence. Union education encourages participation and promotes mutual respect and understanding between members and the union leadership. A trained membership is an active membership and active members build a strong union.

Dear Prime Minister Trudeau: Re: Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers I write today on behalf of the Public Service Alliance of Canada North Region and our 13,000 members in Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Despite the fact that the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) had stated that they were to continue negotiations and would like to reach a fair negotiated agreement, Canada Post management threatens to lock union members out as early as Monday July 11th and refuses to bargain in a meaningful way.

On June 8, members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) who work with Treasury Board mobilized to demand a quick and fair resolution to contract negotiations with their employers and to support their bargaining teams. In a show of solidarity, federal workers attended events organized by PSAC across Canada and called on the Liberal Government to keep their promise of respect and fairness in the current round of collective bargaining.

June 8th was a Day of Action for the Federal Public Service union members. Our members in the North and across the country were successful in sending out a strong message to the federal government that they want fair bargaining and respect. More and more Northerners are turning to food banks to sustain themselves. PSAC North has pledged to assist food banks and the families they support through the Healthy Apple Campaign. How it works It’s as easy as one, two, three! 1.      Local food banks inform PSAC volunteers what food items they need. 2.      PSAC volunteers label those items on grocery store shelves. 3.      Shoppers pick up labeled food items and donate them to the food bank. We are pleased to announce the 2016 PSAC North Regional Conference for Racially Visible Members, which will be held October 15th and 16th, 2016 under the theme “Race Forward: Our Union, Our Community, Our Future!”.  This conference is a historical first for the PSAC North. Racially Visible members will have a chance to network, to learn, and to exchange information across the North.  It is an important opportunity to become a part of racially visible community of PSAC North.
