What are Alliance Facilitators and how can they help your Local?
The Alliance Facilitators Network is composed of a group of trained facilitators who are union members whose purpose is to help you build a strong, active and informed local and/or committee.
The Alliance Facilitator will identify your local’s learning needs, then prepare and deliver union education sessions in the workplace.
The Alliance Facilitator will help you establish, co-ordinate and maintain education committees at the local level.
The Alliance Facilitator will provide training at activities organized by Area Councils, Employment Equity Committees, Health and Safety Committees, to name a few. Alliance Facilitators will deliver workplace sessions on Racism, Health and Safety, Homophobia, Harassment, to name a few or any burning workplace issue, such as call monitoring and machine paced work.
Sessions could range from a half hour lunchtime session to Joint Union Management sessions or in any format you may suggest. Alliance Facilitators will also assist with your negotiations with local management for time and space for these sessions.
