We provide members with learning opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and personal confidence. Union education encourages participation and promotes mutual respect and understanding between members and the union leadership. A trained membership is an active membership and active members build a strong union.

Stephanie Waddell Whitehorse Daily Star The more than 20 unionized staff members with the Town of Watson Lake are off the picket line and back on the job this morning after the town and union reached a tentative agreement Monday. The two sides still have to vote to ratify the agreement, which was expected to happen later today.

The Town of Watson Lake and the members of YEU/PSAC Local Y029 have achieved a tentative deal, ending a week of job action. The employer locked out the 22 unionized employees on Monday March 27th, triggering a strike as the lockout concluded.

By Jack Bourassa, Regional Executive Vice President, PSAC North Canadian families need to have access to a universal, affordable child care system that helps everyone equally. The hodgepodge system of child care we have in Canada now, with every province and territory taking their own approach, is hurting families and failing to support Indigenous Peoples.

The registration period to apply as a Delegate, Alternate or Observer to the 2017 PSAC North Regional Triennial Convention has been extended until January 15, 2017. The extension allows for all PSAC North members from across the three territories to have equal opportunity to share their voice on the Convention floor.

This Halloween, PSAC organized a Day of Action to encourage the Trudeau Government to live up to their promises and bring changes to the Treasury Board bargaining process, as well as resolve the Phoenix Pay System issues. There were many different types of actions across Canada giving Federal Government workers a chance to make their point. In Yellownife, PSAC North invited members to meet us for an event in front of the Greenstone building.   WHEN: Monday, October 31, 2016
