Our Parks bargaining team reached a tentative agreement with the Agency February 16, 2018, which the team unanimously recommends. The Public Service Alliance of Canada will be holding an electronic vote for members of the Parks Canada Agency to ratify the tentative agreement between PSAC and Parks Canada. Meetings will be held by teleconference and/or webinar for all members in Nunavut. As per Regulation 15 of the PSAC Constitution, all members must attend a meeting – either by teleconference or webinar – in order to cast a vote.

There will be a Health and Safety Training course in Yellowknife on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26.  The training course will take place in the North Star Building Training Centre at 4910-53rd Street from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration deadline is May 11, 2018. 2018 Theme: Promoting tolerance, inclusion, unity and respect for diversity in the context of combating racial discrimination Through the International Day for The Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the United Nations General Assembly calls on the international community to redouble its efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination. The Public Service Alliance of Canada’s (PSAC) Nunavut Racially Visible Committee stands in solidarity with the United Nations in this call.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada North hosted the annual Pink Shirt/Anti-Bullying Day at the Great Hall of the NWT Legislative Assembly on Feb. 28.  Students from four local schools gathered to mark this year's theme which was Cyberbullying.  Among the featured presentations included a video by William McDonald’s Me to We Group called “Step Up So others Don’t Get Stepped On.”

There will be a 'Burnt By Phoenix' Day of Action on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Whitehorse. The event will  mark the second anniversary of the failure of the Phoenix pay system and will take place at the Elijah Smith Buliding at noon.  Please see our poster for more details.

There will be a Burnt By Phoenix Rally on Wednesday, February 28th. The event will take place from 7:45 am to 8:30 am at the Greenstone Building. The rally will show support for our Federal Public Service Workers who have been facing issues with the Phoenix Pay System for over 2 years. Please see our poster for more details.
