We provide members with learning opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and personal confidence. Union education encourages participation and promotes mutual respect and understanding between members and the union leadership. A trained membership is an active membership and active members build a strong union.

The hodgepodge system of child care we have in Canada now, with every province and territory taking their own approach, is hurting families and failing to support Indigenous Peoples.

The registration period to apply as a Delegate, Alternate or Observer to the 2017 PSAC North Regional Triennial Convention has been extended until January 15, 2017. The extension allows for all PSAC North members from across the three territories to have equal opportunity to share their voice on the Convention floor.

Delegates from the QEC Bargaining Unit participated in an important Bargaining Conference in Iqaluit in early November to prepare for negotiations for a new collective agreement.

This Halloween, PSAC organized a Day of Action to encourage the Trudeau Government to live up to their promises and bring changes to the Treasury Board bargaining process, as well as resolve the Phoenix Pay System issues. There were many different types of actions across Canada giving Federal Government workers a chance to make their point. In Yellownife, PSAC North invited members to meet us for an event in front of the Greenstone building.   WHEN: Monday, October 31, 2016

This summer in Canada’s North has been anything but uneventful. Federally-organized town halls, bargaining challenges, community involvement and bridge-building – it’s all been fun! To make the mix even more interesting, I underwent surgery, which thankfully hasn’t succeeded in keeping me down for long. Read the rest in my report attached below.

The PSAC's Union Development Program (UDP) has been one of the most comprehensive union leadership training programs in Canada for more than 35 years. This program provide an advanced learning opportunity for emerging leaders to develop the necessary analysis and skills to identify and support union priorities, and to expand our pool of skilled activists who can inspire others.
