PSAC North Regional Indigenous Committee in the Yukon organized a beading workshop on April 18 and 25. Jayla Rousseau-Thomas facilitated the two, two-hour long online sessions in which participating members learned how to bead. Each participant worked towards completing a pin to be given to a frontline worker in honour of their important role during the pandemic.
The workshop received overwhelming positive feedback and the facilitator shared some of the comments: “Please offer these workshops again!” “These workshops are very important to connect with people we know and get to make new connections.” “These workshops have given us a bit of a break from COVID and these hard times.” “This workshop helped me feel connected and in touch with other people while being isolated.” “This gave me an opportunity to slow down and have been great to allow me to connect with people outside my home.”
