Register to cast your ballot in Parks Canada ratification votes  PSAC has now reached tentative agreement with Parks Canada, and PSAC members will have the opportunity to vote on their new collective agreement.  PSAC has organized ratification votes between October 5 to November 4 to allow members working at Parks Canada to cast your ballot.  See below to sign up for the ratification vote information session that is most convenient for you.

SHOW SUPPORT FOR YOUR BARGAINING TEAM Conciliation meetings between PSAC/UNW and the City of Yellowknife are taking place June 9, 10 and 11, 2020. Your bargaining team is grateful for the support you have shown so far, and we encourage you to continue doing so, especially in the week ahead of and during conciliation. Travel mugs and coffee mugs will be distributed by the bargaining team. Use them in the workplace and during videoconferences to show support for your bargaining team. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and current public health orders and recommendations, the PSAC/UNW bargaining team and the City of Yellowknife have agreed to postpone conciliation meetings, which were scheduled for April 15 and 16, 2020. National Telephone town halls with members (PA, SV, TC and EB groups) will be held on March 9 and 10. Each call is 30 minutes long and will focus on bargaining and the strike votes. PSAC National President Chris Aylward will be the featured speaker on the English calls. PSAC National Executive Vice President Magali Picard will be the featured speaker on the French calls. Members are encouraged to join the call with their preferred timing and language:   March 9  Atlantic (English): 6pm EST Ontario (English): 7pm EST

Conciliation Meetings Scheduled The UNW/PSAC bargaining team is eager to get back to the table to reach a fair agreement with the City of Yellowknife. Since the City presented a final offer before negotiations were scheduled to end, the only way to return to the table is through Conciliation.

Bargaining Update City Refuses to Address Members’ Concerns   The UNW/PSAC bargaining team is ready to go back to the table any time the City of Yellowknife is willing to negotiate seriously. By presenting a final offer before negotiations were scheduled to end, the Employer ignored many issues. WORK-LIFE BALANCE There are more than 10 demands related to work-life balance that the City of Yellowknife has ignored in their final offer. Some of them are: - Better vacation accrual

On strike since November 2nd , the union’s bargaining team negotiated into the early morning hours of January 22 to reach a tentative agreement. Following a membership meeting and vote, the tentative contract has been ratified by the members of YEU/PSAC Local Y031, Many Rivers Counselling and Support Services.
