The Native Women’s Association NWT, Yellowknife Victim Services Program and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) project will be holding its annual Sisters in Spirit Vigil and March.  The event will take place at Yellowknife City Hall on Oct 4th, 2017 from 11:30am-1:30 pm. Participants will be walking to Northern United Place. Please see the attached poster for more details.

Jack Bourassa Regional Executive Vice President, PSAC North By now many labour organizations across the country have spoken out in condemnation of the acts that we all witnessed in Charlottesville, Virginia on Aug. 12. Given the tight-knit and diverse nature of our own community, I feel as REVP at PSAC North that we must not only denounce in the strongest terms what occurred, but moving forward, tackle the lingering impact of that weekend.

PSAC North, in collaboration with the NWT Chapter of the Council of Canadians, is organizing a teach-in* offered by Brenda Sayers on October 13th, 5:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for labour leaders and activists to learn about the impacts of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) on labour and public services. Please see attached poster announcing the event, and feel free to share it with colleagues and friends interested in labour rights and social justice.

The Seventeenth National Triennial Convention of the Public Service Alliance of Canada will be held at the Québec City Convention Centre in Québec City, Québec beginning Sunday, April 26 and concluding Friday, May 1, 2015.PSAC North Regional Caucus will take place Sunday, April 26 at 12:30 p.m. If you would like to take part in the caucus, ensure you arrange your travel to arrive on Saturday, April 25.
