Bewilderment rippled worldwide. Aside from the myriad of socio-economic issues that led to Trump’s election, one evident cause stood out.

Indigenous activist Brenda Sayers held the portfolio that legally challenged the Federal Government from ratifying the Canada-China Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (CC-FIPPA) on behalf of Hupacasath First Nation. Knowing the drastic impact TPP will have on Aboriginal Rights and Title and Treaty Rights, Canadians, future generations and natural environment, Brenda is asking PM Justin Trudeau to reject the TPP. This Halloween, PSAC organized a Day of Action to encourage the Trudeau Government to live up to their promises and bring changes to the Treasury Board bargaining process, as well as resolve the Phoenix Pay System issues. There were many different types of actions across Canada giving Federal Government workers a chance to make their point. Want some food for thought? Alternatives North, Public Service Alliance of Canada and Northern Territories Federation of Labour will give out food for thought Monday, October 17 at the Yellowknife Post office. Snacks will be provided to the public along with a postcard people can mail to federal Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, calling for meaningful consultation in the development of a Canadian Poverty Reduction Strategy.
