Our Family Fun Day in support of affordable, high quality child care in Canada this Saturday in Yellowknife was a huge success! We welcomed more than 200 children and their families for a day of fun activities and a great learning experience for parents about what universal child care could look like in Canada.
We collected 150 signatures in support of PSAC - AFPC's vision of Child Care 2020, and collected dozens of stories and anecdotes from parents across the North describing the challenges they face finding affordable, high quality child care in the NWT.
None of this could have been possible without the help of our amazing volunteers – Dawn Skinner, Alecia Callahan, Geraldine Pottle Penney, Holly Ferris, Amy Lam, Nancy Lamb and Elwood Chan.
