Employer’s proposal: unacceptable
February 1st, 2016 – Greetings Brothers and Sisters.
After the first round of negotiations your Bargaining Team and the employer have not yet reached an agreement.
Your Bargaining Team worked very hard to reach the best deal possible, but the employer has refused to take our fair offer. Instead, they are asking for concessions that we cannot possibly accept.
Some of the big concessions they put forth are: reducing the Northern Allowance and clawing back one day of special leave, two days of vacation travel and the off-season bonus.
In total, these concessions amount to roughly $5,300 per member per year after taxes.
Rest assured that you are not alone in this fight. The PSAC and NEU are behind you, alongside other communities and Housing Associations who are also standing strong throughout their own bargaining processes.
Your support and that of your friends and family is crucial to win public opinion and to reach a fair and reasonable collective agreement.
