Canadian national theme for Black History Month 2021 is “The Future is Now.” February is dedicated to celebrating the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and communities throughout history. The future is now: let’s not only celebrate the past but focus on the present and work towards the future.
At PSAC North, we recognize the urgency to take a strong action to end racism and discrimination in our workplaces, schools and communities. Protests, rallies and events following the death of George Floyd last year serve as an eyeopener that anti-black racism exists beyond police brutality to infest our societies and communities. It’s our collective responsibility as individuals and a nation to bring an end to systemic racism and fight injustice.
Black lives matter, Black dreams matter, Black contributions matter, Black future matters!
